I really like my houseplants...

Working in tech, you really need to pull yourself out of the digital world. One of my favorite hobbies to detox myself is to take care of my houseplants.

Boston Fern

This evergreen plant can reach as high as 40–90 centimetres (16–35 in), and in extreme cases up to 1.5 metres (4 ft 11 in). It is also known as the Boston sword fern, wild Boston fern, Boston Blue Bell Fern, tuber ladder fern, or fishbone fern.

Monstera Adansonii

Monstera adansonii, the Adanson's monstera, Swiss cheese plant, or five holes plant, is a species of flowering plant from family Araceae which is widespread across much of South America and Central America.

Rhipsalis Mesembryanthemoides

Rhipsalis mesembryanthemoides is a cactus in the genus Rhipsalis of the family Cactaceae. The first description was in 1821 by Adrian Hardy Haworth. The shoots are reminiscent of the plants of the genus Mesembryanthemum, hence the epithet mesembryanthemoides.

ZZ Plant

Zamioculcas is genus of flowering plants in the family Araceae, containing the single species Zamioculcas zamiifolia. It is a tropical perennial plant, native to eastern Africa, from southern Kenya to northeastern South Africa. Common names include Zanzibar gem, ZZ plant, Zuzu plant, aroid palm, eternity plant and emerald palm.

Hoya Carnosa-Compacta

The Hindu rope plant (Hoya carnosa 'Compacta' or 'Krinkle Kurl') is a curly leaf version of the porcelain flower or wax plant (Hoya carnosa). This semi-succulent, perennial, vine-like species is known for its lush, waxy foliage, unique curling vines, and striking blooms.

Birds of Paradise

The distinctive bird of paradise (Strelitzia spp.) is one of the best-known tropical flowers. It is closely related to the banana plant. The bird of paradise plant is named for closely resembling the tropical bird of the same name.

Bird's Nest Snake Plant

Commonly known as "snake plant" or "mother-in-law's tongue", this succulent is a low-maintenance house plant that is great for beginners.

Ming Aralia

Polyscias fruticosa, or Ming aralia, is a perennial plant, dicot evergreen shrub or dwarf tree native to India.

Panda Plant

Kalanchoe tomentosa, also known as pussy ears or panda plant, is a succulent plant in the genus Kalanchoe. A native of Madagascar, Kalanchoe tomentosa has many different cultivars such as 'Chocolate Soldier', 'Golden Girl', 'Black Tie' and 'Teddy Bear'. It's leaves have small brown tips with a hint of red.

Thanksgiving Cactus

This cactus is often confused with Christmas cacti and Easter cacti. It is endemic to a small area of the coastal mountains of south-eastern Brazil where its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist forests.

Graptopetalum Paraguayense

Graptopetalum paraguayense is a species of succulent plant in the jade plant family, Crassulaceae, that is native to Tamaulipas, Mexico. Common names include mother-of-pearl-plant and ghost plant.

Heart-leaf Philodendron

The heart-leaf philodendron is a species of flowering plant in the family Araceae, native to Central America and the Caribbean. This little guy can grow with it's roots in or out of soil, kinda like a semi-epiphyte.

Hoya Parasitica (Black Margin)

Hoya parasitica has unique black lines across the perimeter of it's leaves. Hence the common name "black margin".

Arrowhead Vine

Common names include: arrowhead plant, arrowhead vine, arrowhead philodendron, goosefoot, nephthytis, African evergreen, and American evergreen. The species is native to a wide region of Latin America from Mexico through Bolivia, and naturalized in the West Indies, Florida, Texas, Hawaii, and other places.

Lucky Bamboo

Dracaena sanderiana is a species of flowering plant in the family Asparagaceae, native to Central Africa. The plant is commonly marketed as "lucky bamboo".

Stapelia Gigantea

Stapelia gigantea is a species of flowering plant in the genus Stapelia of the family Apocynaceae. Common names include Zulu giant, carrion plant and toad plant (although the nickname "carrion plant" can also refer to Stapelia grandiflora). The plant is native to the desert regions of South Africa to Tanzania.

Money Tree

Pachira aquatica is a tropical wetland tree in the mallow family Malvaceae, native to Central and South America where it grows in swamps. It is known by its common names Malabar chestnut, French peanut, Guiana chestnut, Provision tree, Saba nut, Brazil, Guatemala and is commercially sold under the names Money tree and Money plant. This tree is sometimes sold with a braided trunk and is commonly grown as a houseplant, although more commonly what is sold as a "Pachira aquatica" houseplant is in fact a similar species, P. glabra.

Burro's Tail

Sedum morganianum, the donkey tail or burro's tail, is a species of flowering plant in the family Crassulaceae, native to southern Mexico.

Jade Plant

Crassula ovata, commonly known as jade plant, lucky plant, money plant or money tree, is a succulent plant with small pink or white flowers that is native to the KwaZulu-Natal and Eastern Cape provinces of South Africa, and Mozambique; it is common as a houseplant worldwide. Much of its popularity stems from the low levels of care needed; the jade plant requires little water and can survive in most indoor conditions.

Monstera Deliciosa

Monstera deliciosa, the Swiss cheese plant or split-leaf philodendron is a species of flowering plant native to tropical forests of southern Mexico, south to Panama.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is a succulent plant species of the genus Aloe. It is widely distribute, and is considered an invasive species in many world regions.

Snake Plant

Dracaena trifasciata is a species of flowering plant in the family Asparagaceae, native to tropical West Africa from Nigeria east to the Congo. It is most commonly known as the snake plant, Saint George's sword, mother-in-law's tongue, and viper's bowstring hemp, among other names.

Spider Plant

Chlorophytum comosum, usually called spider plant or common spider plant due to its spider-like look, also known as spider ivy, airplane plant, ribbon plant (a name it shares with Dracaena sanderiana), and hen and chickens, is a species of evergreen perennial flowering plant of the family Asparagaceae. It is native to tropical and Southern Africa but has become naturalized in other parts of the world, including Western Australia and Bangladesh. Chlorophytum comosum is easy to grow as a houseplant because of its resilience, but it can be sensitive to the fluoride in tap water, which commonly gives it "burnt tips". Variegated forms are the most popular.

Chinese Money Plant

Pilea peperomioides aka the Chinese money plant, UFO plant, pancake plant, lefse plant or missionary plant, is a species of flowering plant in the nettle family Urticaceae, native to Yunnan and Sichuan provinces in southern China.

Ficus Elastica Ruby

Ficus elastica, the rubber fig, rubber bush, rubber tree, rubber plant, or Indian rubber bush, Indian rubber tree, is a species of flowering plant in the family Moraceae, native to eastern parts of South and Southeast Asia.

Hoya Carnosa Krimson Queen

Hoya carnosa ‘Krimson Queen’ is a perennial evergreen with waxy, succulent leaves. Variegated Hoya carnosa plants belong to the genus Hoya and the family Apocynaceae. Like all Hoya carnosa cultivars, the ‘Krimson Queen’ is an epiphytic plant with long trailing vines.

Hoya Obovata

Hoya obovata is a species of plant in the genus of waxflowers ( Hoya ) from the subfamily of the milkweed family (Asclepiadoideae).

Golden Pothos

Epipremnum aureum is a species in the arum family Araceae, native to Mo'orea in the Society Islands of French Polynesia. The species is a popular houseplant in temperate regions but has also become naturalised in tropical and sub-tropical forests worldwide, including northern South Africa, Australia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, the Pacific Islands and the West Indies, where it has caused severe ecological damage in some cases.
